On Saturday the 8th of June, the women’s group met again. Sharon from Food4Families joined us and we got our hands dirty planting some nice vegetables that we will try to keep alive in our gardens!
We learned more about the Sikh project that is planting a million trees around the world. The Sikh faith sees God in every creature, this is also why Sikhs are vegetarians. We talked a bit more about how other religions also emphasize our relationship with non-human creatures and nature in general. In our society we have largely lost this contact, often not even realising where our food comes from. Projects like Food4Families can bring us back to the Earth, as well as connect people to each other.
It was a really nice meeting and we hope to see each other again in August!
